Arryn Robbins
Certified Pilates InstructorArryn began her journey in fitness and strength when she discovered Pilates in 2012 as a way to reduce stress during graduate school. She found that Pilates also helped her become more confident and engaged in other forms of exercise. With experience in both classical and contemporary practices, she brings a thoughtful and inclusive approach to her group and private sessions. Arryn encourages clients to treat movement as both a physical and mental practice, where building strength goes hand in hand with developing body awareness, recognizing small wins, and continuing to celebrate progress while striving for growth.
In class, Arryn’s teaching style blends intentional instruction with vivid imagery to help movements connect and feel more intuitive. She aims to meet clients where they are, whether they are improving functional mobility for daily life, rebuilding strength after injury or surgery, supporting pregnancy, or expanding their athletic performance. The professor in her often comes through as she emphasizes the “why” behind each movement.
Outside the studio, Arryn stays active through weightlifting and cycling and enjoys keeping up with her young daughter. She also brings her passion for teaching and learning into her work as a psychology professor at the University of Richmond, where she teaches and conducts research in cognitive science.
